A tech pack, (short for technical packet), is a detailed blueprint that communicates every specification of a garment to a manufacturer or factory. It includes flat sketches, construction details, measurements, materials, colorways, Bill of Materials (BOM), and any special instructions needed to produce your design accurately. Think of it as the instruction manual for your clothing line — without it, manufacturers are left guessing, which leads to costly sampling errors and production delays.

Avoid Sample Mistakes – Your product Tech Pack is a blue print for factories and pattern makers to develop your sample. Every detail that’s needed for the garment should be in the tech pack. Factories create garments based on its tech pack, and if it’s not in the technical specification design package, it will not be on the garment. The clearer and more instructional the tech pack, it increase the level of accuracy for your sample.

To create your sample perfection you’ll need to do a model fitting. Fitting’s allow creators a chance to see their design on an actual body, which makes it far easy to make corrections and revisions to the design prototype. These changes and or revisions must be detailed in an updated version of the tech pack.
